Brit has the head and the heart to make the 49th District stronger.

BRIT’S BEGINNINGS

A daughter of Northeast Ohio, Brit is proudly grounded and gritty.

Born and raised in a blue-collar home in Wellsville, Brit learned the value of hard work and community service at a young age.  Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as an infant, she benefited from her father’s union-negotiated health care coverage, an experience which gave her an early understanding of how life-altering good insurance can be for families. She also learned that a fair wage can bring a family out of poverty and into the middle class and will fight for an increace in jobs and wages for her district neighbors.

SERVING OUR COUNTRY

Over her nearly two decades as a diplomat and public servant, Brit represented the US in more than 30 countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, and South Africa.  She designed economic growth programs, negotiated resources with federal legislators, and designed public policy that strengthened American interests.  As a senior policy official for U.S. Agency for International Development, she worked alongside service members to strengthen America’s position around the world while also representing American generosity.  During this time, she also earned a Master’s of Environmental Science & Policy from Johns Hopkins University.

Brit is ready to represent our District in Columbus, the same way she represented our nation overseas.

CANTON IS HOME

Sometimes, the road back takes you forward.

Brit was the first in her family to earn a bachelor’s degree when she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Malone University with a B.A. in History and Political Science.  Formative experiences during that time drew her back to the district to raise her own children.

Since leaving USAID in 2024, Brit can be found cheering at the Jackson Township soccer and t-ball fields, hiking with her boys in our beautiful local parks, enjoying our amazing downtown restaurants, working out at the Paul & Carol David YMCA, checking out books at Stark Libraries, or tending her garden.

BRIT’S BOTTOM LINE

It’s time to come off the sidelines.

Pursuing public office was not part of Brit’s plan, but serving her community (and country) has always been her passion. She is exhausted by political rhetoric and deeply troubled by the polarization, profiteering, and direction of both our Nation and State.  There is no reason that Ohio should have one of the lowest median incomes while boasting one of the nation’s highest GDPs.  There is no reason Canton should not be seeing the growth of Central Ohio.

Drawing on her decades of experience in program building and policy development, and her desire to raise her family here in Northeast Ohio, Brit knows she has both the head and the heart to make District 49 stronger for everyone who calls it home.
