As a mother, lifelong Type 1 diabetic, and wife of a physician, Brit understands how essential healthcare is to a family’s ability to thrive. Expanding access to care and supporting providers to provide the highest quality care is a top priority.

Access to safe, reliable and affordable childcare is a top priority for nearly all families, particularly those living at or below the median income level. Parents can’t contribute to our economy without childcare and expanding access and support to providers, particularly for those impacted by the new kindergarten age requirements, is critical to our future.

Without strong investments in our public schools and a commitment to academic freedom in our State’s once thriving higher education system, Ohio will fall behind other states in the nation. Brit supports an education system - from preschool to post-grad - that keeps our best and brightest here in Ohio and provides opportunity to all people, regardless of school district or income.

Workers are the backbone of America’s economy but the gap between the rich and poor is growing, and too many people who work hard are barely scraping by. Improving affordability, increasing job opportunities and fair wages is essential to the District’s future.

Police, firefighters, and medical staff are just some of the community professionals who help make our District safe. Brit will support them, just as they work every day to keep her children and our community secure and strong.

Affordable energy costs and a clean, safe environment should go hand in hand. Current policies fall short. Brit will fight for access to the latest technology and the strongest protections available to keep Ohioans safe and position our state for long-term, environmentally responsible economic growth.

Brit was a founding member of the Protect Choice Stark committee, which ensured that a women’s right to control her own body was enshrined in our State’s Constitution. She will ensure the voice of the people is not undermined by radical politicians looking to impost their beliefs on others.

Land conservation and historic preservation are deeply important to Brit. As an avid park goer, environmental scientist, and a former intern at Canton’s Saxton-McKinley House, she understands the power of our shared stories and our connection to the land. She’s committed to keeping Ohio and the district strong on these issues.

Brit has experienced Ohio’s unfair and opaque property tax system firsthand and is deeply frustrated that the Statehouse is putting public funding for education and safety services at risk by failing to reform the system. She supports a transparent, fair, and common-sense tax approach and will work to make this a reality.
